In Memory

If you haven’t heard already, I’m very sad to report that my predecessor on the School Board, Eric Von der Porten, passed away last Tuesday. Eric was a fine man, and he inspired and encouraged me to run for this post. He was on the School Board for eight years, and he was a community leader in education and other areas. An extremely intelligent man who was also one of the nicest people I knew, he supported me and was a great resource for my transition. My family sends its condoldences to his family. I hope that everyone appeciates the impact that he made for our schools and our children, and I hope I will be able to make near as much of an impact. His family has requested that anyone interested can make a donation in Eric’s name to either the San Carlos Educational Foundation or the Carlmont Academic Foundation.
