My background
Strong business and community experience combined with practical
problem-solving approaches, the ability to work collaboratively with a
diverse group of constituents, and a "get it done" mentality
An East Coast native, I was born in New York
and grew up primarily in New Jersey.  I was
blessed with a good education, involved parents,
and a strong community.  Also, our schools had
the luxury of greater resources than California
schools have today -- we had school buses,
teacher's aides in every classroom, and smaller
class sizes.  As a parent, I of course want to
provide every opportunity to my children that my
parents provided for me.
I went to Dartmouth College, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Economics.  Later I
attended Harvard Business School for a Masters in Business Administration.  I moved to
California in 1993 and have been a resident of San Carlos for 10 years.

Work Experience
I am currently the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Optimost,
the leading provider of web optimization solutions for online businesses.  I also manage
the company's West Coast office, based in Foster City.  Prior to Optimost, I ran my own
consulting business helping technology and media firms in strategic planning, business
development, and mergers & acquisitions. Before then, I worked for a number of media
companies and also a few technology start-ups, including being the President of
Pocket.com and the COO of Bluefish Wireless.  Earlier in my career, I was an investment
banker with Lehman Brothers as well as a Vice President for Ziff-Davis, a leading
technology publishing and media company.

Involvement in the San Carlos Schools and Community
I have been actively involved in the schools since my son started in Kindergarten three
years ago.  I have been on the Board of Directors for the
San Carlos Educational
Foundation for the last two years, leading SCEF's efforts to bring in greater business
sponsorships.  In the two years I have been with the organization, we have increased
the amount of money raised for the schools from $400,000 to over $900,000.

I have also been a classroom volunteer for two years, a
Healthy Cities tutor for two
years, and have coached
San Carlos Little League and AYSO for a total of six seasons.
